Mission: Protect Democracy
Formed in 2021, we are a non-partisan grassroots coalition of Southwest Missourians who believe that:
• Our most precious right as Americans is the right to vote, and have our votes counted.
• A well-educated society is the key to a healthy democracy. We vigorously oppose book banning, and support the American Free Press.
• Every eligible citizen who wants to vote should be able to vote, and vote easily.
The Pillars of Democracy
• Voting rights: Every eligible citizen who wishes to do so should be able to vote easily, and have their votes counted.
• Public education: We must produce well-educated citizens who have access to diverse viewpoints. We vigorously oppose book banning and suppression of thought.
• A Free Press: Freedom of the Press is crucial to a healthy democracy. Successful attacks on a free press almost always precede implementation of autocratic forms of government.
Strengthening democracy starts locally.
Strong communities depend on people who are informed, engaged, and willing to participate. Help us strengthen civic engagement and protect democratic values for current and future generations.
